April 2021 TDI Newsletter
As we begin to see our way out of this pandemic, we want to take a moment to recognize our virtual gifts(!) to our community, and to thank you for your involvement in our programs:
We have been holding successful monthly virtual Saturday afternoon Kids Connections since October, with an emphasis on fun and laughter!
Our first virtual Joys and Challenges of Parenting Gifted Children event, which focused on Connections, was a big success last month. We had over 35 parents and professionals involved.
Monthly virtual Parent Connections have also had good attendance, with reports of great appreciation from parents for the support they are receiving, both from attending professionals and from each other.
We look forward to holding in-person events when we feel it is safe to do so, including the Lake Elmore gathering on August 22nd.
April 10th International Parent Connections
VIRTUAL meeting
When: THIS Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm
Where: Virtual on Zoom; when we receive your RSVP, we will send you a confirmation email with the pertinent information to log into the password protected Zoom call.
What: Join Dr. Trevor Tebbs and Dr. Carol Story for this second opportunity to further our connections with parents of gifted children in Germany. It will be a casual (virtual) social gathering for parents of gifted children, as well as for professionals who serve gifted children, with guided discussion and sharing of information and resources. Let's build a supportive community of people invested in the well-being of gifted children! Please share this invitation with anyone you feel may benefit, as all interested adults are welcome. For event-related questions and to RSVP, please contact Sara at wilkins.sara@hotmail.com.
TDI Vermont Connections events are mainly peer-focused gatherings sponsored by the Talent Development Institute / Green Mountain Center for Gifted Education. The Institute provides technical support and professional expertise in response to local groups’ needs.
